BID - Manage Bargaining Unit Employees (BUEs)

To run a successful bid all BUEs must be on the roster and sorted appropriately in alphabetical order. Rosters are managed through the Manage Roster link in the left menu.

Roster Basics

When setting up a facility for the first time in BID, the FacRep or Bid Rep will need to import all BUEs for the facility (by area).

Add Controller

BUEs are imported from MyNATCA nightly. To locate a BUE, you search by all or part of the last name or all or part of the first name, followed by a space, then all or part of the last name.

Find Controllers to Add: Dos
Will return the last names of Dosh, Dosier, Doss

Find Controllers to Add: J Dos
Will return the full names of: James Dosh, Jason Doss, Justin Doss

Add Missing Controller

When a BUE is new to the Agency, they will not be available through the Add Controller module until NATCA receives their information from the FAA, which occurs approximately ten (10) days after the end of each pay period. Once a BUE is added to MyNATCA they can be added to the roster. However, if you need to add a BUE sooner to start bidding a temporary BUE can be created.

A Temporary Profile:

  • Will be deleted at the end of the bid year (bids will be visible until the end of the following Leave Year)

  • Will NOT be able to login to MyNATCA, BID, etc. This is because there is no valid member number in those systems

  • Will require a FacRep, Area Rep, or Bid Aid to enter bids on their behalf.

NOTE: Once the BUE has been added to MyNATCA, you can contact the ITC at [email protected] or through the red message icon on this page with the BUE's name and we will update their profile to use their member number. This will then allow them to log in to BID and enter their own bids (if configured).

Roster Teams

If the facility/area wishes to bid multiple groups of employees separately they can establish Roster Teams. When Teams Bid Concurrently option is turned ON for a Leave or Line Round, the system will allow the teams to bid simultaneously. This is often used when Trainees bid separate Lines and Leave Slots completely independent of the CPC bid. There is no limit to the number of Roster Teams that can be created for a roster.

Create Additional Rosters

Every area starts with a single Roster, but up to seven additional rosters can be created by clicking the Gear Icon and then Create New Roster. Additional rosters are typically used when one round requires a combined roster with all BUEs bidding consecutively, but a subsequent round allows for teams to bid concurrently.

What About Manage Members?

There are members no longer at my facility listed in Manage Members.

I can't remove members from Manage Members.

Manage Members is useful for larger facilities when editing roles, contact info, or Accumulated Leave. It lists all employees in a single, filterable list so the admin doesn't have to navigate to each area to locate BUEs to manage. There is no impact on the bid if extra BUEs are listed. A script runs once per year that purges older records but may not fully clean up the list of members. It's best not to worry about this list unless you are managing the bid for a large facility.
