BID - Using Line Groups

Line Groups are used when a facility or area bids a line for different segments of the year and not one line for the entire year.

Updated over 2 months ago

A Line Group is used to organize Bid Lines for all or part of a bid year. If a bargaining unit employee (BUE) in your facility bids multiple lines to make up a full year, then you will need to use Line Groups.

For instance, if you bid summer and winter lines or trimesters, then you will need a Line Group for each segment of the year. For Summer/Winter bidding you would need a Summer Line Group and a Winter Line Group. The expectation is that a BUE will select one line from each Line Group before clicking BID.

FAQ

Why can't a BUE bid a line? Why is the BID button greyed out even after the BUE selects a line?

If multiple Line Groups are active, a BUE must select one line from each of the Line Groups. If you aren't expecting this, then you need to deactivate all but one Line Group.

Line Group Settings

  • ACTIVATE LINE GROUP - Activate/Deactivate the Line Group. You might create a "Test" Line Group to play around with features that you don't want to be visible. When deactivated, a Line Group is only visible to Facility Admins.

  • NAME - Display name for the Line Group

  • START/END DATES - This defaults to the start/end of the leave year currently selected for the facility. This should only be changed if the facility/area has more than one ACTIVE Line Group
